While San Francisco restaurants are re-tooling their culinary excellence for takeout service under the city’s “shelter in place” order, they are also cooking up innovative ways to support their community.

San Francisco’s iconic City Hall was bathed in purple lights on April 6 to honor hospitality industry workers affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

When San Francisco’s museums and performing arts organizations temporarily closed to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus, their drive to share and inspire kicked into high gear. The result is a broad and colorful spectrum of ways to experience the enrichment of San Francisco while sheltering in place.

Total visitor volume hits 26.2 Million, up 1.4 percent while visitor spending exceeds $10.2 billion, up 2.7 percent.

San Francisco offers more than 40 neighborhoods, each with a distinct history, atmosphere and personality. The San Francisco Convention & Visitors Bureau® has developed a new section on its Web site to help visitors discover and explore the city from end to end.
